When couples work together, it’s either feast or famine in the compatibility department. This week, John and I will celebrate (along with family and friends) our 40th wedding anniversary.
On and off during those 40 years, we have worked together on certain projects; and for the past 20 years, we have been by each other’s side day and night, working on our studio projects.
It hasn’t always been easy in the work department — we still bicker with each other from time to time — but all in all, we make it. If I had to pick 3 traits of our success, it would be these:
First, we have the same vision for our present — and for our future. We’re always working toward a goal (a new car, retirement, etc.), and that’s what keeps us on the same page.
Second, we try whenever possible to share duties based on individual strengths.
Third, we have a good time together.
I wish the same for you.
