When our listeners were asked to select which computer device(s) they use for selling, personal computers (PCs) and mobile devices ranked at 78% and 63% respectively.
We were delighted to learn that so many eBay sellers are using smartphones and tablets to help manage their business. The number of US smartphone users who use either their mobile browser or a dedicated app to visit a retail site totaled 89.5 million in July 2012. That—s about four out of every five smartphone owners in our country. This surge in mobile commerce, a field which did not even exist a few years ago, is simply staggering.
Even if you still list via your desktop computer or laptop, you owe it to yourself and your business to know how your eBay listings look on a smartphone or tablet and be sure you are optimizing them for mobile.
