2017 Holiday Shipping / Mailing Deadlines

11 Nov 2016 Blog

Great news for sellers…the US Postal Service is projecting a double-digit increase in package volume this holiday season. USPS expects the busiest day for mailing holiday greeting cards and packages to be Monday, December 19th…while the busiest day for delivering cards and packages is predicted to be Thursday, December 22nd.

To handle the increase in volume, USPS plans to hire 35,000 to 40,000 seasonal workers to process and deliver holiday cards and packages. That compares to 29,000 in 2015.

The Postal Service recommends that US customers observe the following domestic shipping deadlines to ensure delivery in time for Christmas…

    • December 15th…for USPS Retail Ground
    • December 20th…for First Class Mail
    • December 21st…for Priority Mail
    • December 23rd…for Priority Mail Express
