Turn Your Next Trip Into a Buying Opportunity

15 May 2017 Blog

In a recent eBay for Business post, Audrey Tracy says if you’re planning a trip, remember that you can turn it into a buying opportunity. She’s collected some tips from sellers who have been there, done that.

First, put your store on vacation mode for the time you’ll be gone. Then scout your location. Do some online research to understand what sort of suppliers, stores or merchandise might be available.

  • Google Maps can give you a sense of location and distances between shopping stops, while the street view feature can give you a sense of the area where you’ll be shopping.
  • Check Craigslist or local websites to find antique shows and merchandise expos.
  • Check seller Facebook groups in that area for tips.
  • Use AuctionZip, FleaMarketZone and EstateSales to find local sales events by state or zip code.
